A great gift for birthdays and other special occasions, My Awesome Year Being 8 is bursting with ideas and inspiration for making awesome memories!
With tons of activities to try and prompts to jot down day-to-day experiences, this is the perfect place for an eight-year-old to record all the fun things they do throughout the year. From geocaching to painting pebbles, making smoothies to building a den, it’s great for getting kids outdoors and being active indoors! And with space to fill-in, doodle and draw, the finished book will be something to treasure forever.
My Review:
I am really glad I requested an advanced reader copy of this fantastic activity book because my little girl turns eight this year and it’s perfect for her. She loves to sit on an evening and fill in a writing book she has which is similar to this (although nowhere near as good). So I thought an ARC copy was a good chance to check this out as a possible birthday present.
Well I can say for certain, I will be buying this for her birthday and I may even buy a copy for all of her friends’ birthdays too. What a great activity book and keepsake to mark her ‘year of being eight’ this will be.
It is filled with an array of activities, from baking ideas, to a geocaching log, from book review pages to fun family challenges. There’s a ‘seven things I loved about being seven’ page, and a ‘nine things I’d like to do before I’m nine’ page. There’s space to write about friendships, and school days and holidays and outdoor fun, and pages with tips on recycling and how to look after our planet.
It has so much in there – I was sold by page 42 and there are over 120 pages! Plenty to keep you busy through the whole year. It has a really bright and simple design and the font is pleasing with lots of variety in how the pages can be engaged with (boxes to fill in, questions to answer, recipes to try, prompts to inspire, things to colour in, drawing pages, and also tips and information).
I highly recommend this ‘Awesome’ Activity book! I see the publisher also has it available for other ages and may have to have a browse.
